Knights of Pythias Greenwood Cemetery announces the inaugural celebration for The Greenwood Cemetery Humanitarian Award. This Bi-Annual Award recognizes the unsung heroes who volunteer their time and energy to keep alive Northeast Philadelphia’s historic past while providing a better future and quality of life in the communities they live and serve. Howard Linde, our first award recipient, was unanimously confirmed by the nominating committee and will be honored September 2018 with the first Greenwood Cemetery Humanitarian Award.
Greenwood Cemetery Monument Relocation

The Knights of Pythias Greenwood Cemetery is undergoing continued efforts to restore the property to its original beauty.
Greenwood Cemetery announces that restoration efforts to relocate vulnerable monuments stored during the cemetery beautification process has begun. Joe Hevener, Greenwood Cemetery Property Manager states “Returning the monuments moved during this phase of re-beautification will complete the fourth phase of the overall planned beautification and will bring us another step closer to restoring the landscape intended.”

Grave and Lot sales continue. The first new lot sale with interment since the Cemetery’s beautification and restoration, occurred in September 2012. Neighboring residents are impressed with the work being done at Greenwood Cemetery and the numbers of lot purchase inquiries are increasing daily.
